Only you and the one person you pair with. Fio is built as a two-person space — no groups, no strangers, no employees reading your things. Your side of the couple is protected by row-level security in the database, so even bugs can't accidentally expose it.

Yes, at the moment. It runs on generous free tiers and we're keeping it small on purpose. If it ever needs to become paid, we'll ask first — and give you a way to export everything you put in it.

No. Fio is a web app that installs to your home screen. Open fio.social in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android), tap Share → Add to Home Screen, and it behaves like a native app.

You sign in and generate a 6-letter code. Your partner signs in with their own email and enters your code. Fio then locks the two accounts together as one couple — nobody else can join.

Either of you can unpair from Settings. When you unpair, the couple and its shared content (messages, photos, thoughts) is deleted. Journal entries that were only yours stay yours.

No. One partner at a time. It's a design choice — Fio is the opposite of a group chat. If you want to pair with someone new, unpair first.

Almost. The journal is private to you (you'll see 'Just for you' in the header when it is). Everything else — status, thoughts, photos, chat, calendar — is shared with your partner.

In encrypted-at-rest storage on Supabase, EU region, private bucket. Nobody outside your couple can read them. They're not indexed or scanned by any AI or third party.

Yes — email hello@fio.social and we'll send you a JSON of your content within a few days. A self-serve download button is coming.

Coming soon. Web push notifications work on iOS 16.4+ and all modern Android browsers. Fio will let you turn them on so a thought or a message actually pings on your lock screen.
